The interior was absolutely immaculate, still like new. The car was the demo model and we bought it with 3000kms on the clock. Once every few months I’d drive 2hrs to Bathurst to visit family. I missed a service or two over 6yrs however I only ever drove locally. Purchased in June 2018 at Carstart for $11,000. There needs to be a class action over this lemon. Take your hard earned and invest in literally any other car you can find. Yes it is responsive, has power when you need it, interior is comfy and spacious and the Bose sound system is amazing, but this car has cost me thousands more than it should for its age, and has done so with alarming regularity to a majority of other owners. I still have a year of finance owing, its almost dead and I just lost any patience I had for it. It was costing me $100 a week in fuel just to drive kids to school and run errands around town - a job which my previous Impreza would do for less than half the price. I managed to get it down to 13L/100km once driving from Brisbane to Sydney at 100km/h instead of 110, but at 110 back up it went. I get 15L/100km driving at regular road pace. If you are unlucky enough to have just bought one, and lucky enough to not have major engine failure at less than 150k, the fuel economy should be enough to turn you off. At 140,000km catastrophic issues like this should not be happening, and certainly not be so common as to have mechanics who specialise in CX-7 turbo and timing chain replacements. I just bought another car and Im giving up on the Mazda. Read more ely that the turbo is also on its way. Now it also has a major oil leak despite servicing every 5000km, and very lik. I haven't even put 10,000km on it and it's definitely on its last legs. Turns out the timing chain was already on it's way to failure. From day one it sounded a bit like a diesel, but I just thought that was how it sounded. Was in twice under the 3 month warranty they gave me for minor issues (thermostat stuck open so engine running cold, wheel bearings). Bought a 2007 CX-7 luxury from a used car dealer with 130,000 on the clock.
